"Iraq for Sale" panel discussion

The Journalism Club held a screening of the documentary film "Iraq for Sale" on Nov. 2 in the Student Center. The event attracted an audience of at least 40 viewers and featured a panel of experts to host a post-viewing discussion.
Faculty panel members included Dr. Teri Bengiveno, who provided a historical perspective, and Cynthia Ross, who offered psychological insight. Student representatives included Nick Delatorre, a Purchaser for the Navy and Iraq war veteran. The panel also included Jason Barr, the Journalism Club President who represented the media and introduced the perspective of companies mentioned in the film, and Will Thompson, a fact-checker armed with a laptop and wireless internet connection.
The film provided a unique view on the war in Iraq, focusing on some of the people who claim to be victims of war profiteering since the military outsources many of the jobs it used to operate.
Food was provided during an intermission halfway through the film. The event received positive feedback from the students and staff who attended.
