As their second to last game of the league, The LPC men, put on a well performance game against their rivalry school, Chabot College on November 10th. There was a tension between the two rival teams, making the game full of momentum and competition.
The men played strong the entire game. Within the first twenty-two minutes of the first half, Frankie Diez scored a penalty kick.
Unfortunately, Chabot made some lucky shots on goal.
The score of the game was Chabot 3- LPC 1.
"We played two different games today," said Coach Aguiar. "The first half went from good composed soccer to more of a kick-ball dynamic during the second half of the game. There was good sportsmanship though."
The entire team played a well-collaborated and skilled game. The prime players of the evening were team captains, Mike Augello, positioned as a sweeper; and Alex Hickerson, positioned as left defensive fullback; along with midfield Garry Zuniga. According to Coach Aguello, the stars played every position of the ball well. They were focused and were strong in defense as well as offense.
"It was a well played game on both teams," said Hickerson. "The first half was better than the second."
"We were in it for the first half," said Augello. "We put one away in the beginning and missed a few opportunities. Chabot countered back with a few lucky goals."
"We started winning," said Assistant Coach Rodriguez. "LPC dominated first half mostly. During the second half, we made a couple mistakes and lost chances. If we had scored in the beginning we could have had this game."
